Louise Shorter
Louise Shorter is a journalist, Board Member, charity founder and academic researcher with a special interest in criminal justice issues, particularly miscarriages of justice. She spent nearly 20 years at the BBC Producing & Directing documentaries notably the long-running investigative strand Rough Justice and regularly appears on camera in criminal justice and true crime shows notably Conviction: Murder at the Station and Wrongly Accused. She founded the registered charity Inside Justice which, under her leadership, provided £1m annually free legal and expert advice to serving prisoners.
Louise’s academic area of interest relates to criminal convictions and forensic evidence which has been widely published. She sits on two Boards: The Youth Justice Board of England and Wales and the prisoners’ newspaper Inside Time. She continues to investigate alleged miscarriages of justice and campaign for legal reform.
