Tat Effby (The Caketoonist)

Tat spent years on the ‘toonist’ bit. Her cartoons have appeared in the Guardian, the Observer, Private Eye and the Oldie. She’s been a finalist for the Women Cartoonists International Award and a runner up in the Observer Jonathan Cape Graphic Short Story competition. She spent those same years secretly trying, and spectacularly failing, to get on The Great British Bake Off. After attempt number four she finally decided, for sanity’s sake, she’d better stop.

The Caketoonist is what happened when Tat joined TikTok and did the cake bit on her own terms. To date her recipes, combining a dry sense of humour and a moist sense of cake, have been viewed over 50 Million times. Just be warned, she does love a pun – old ones are good but currant puns are better.
