Neil Blair founded The Blair Partnership in 2011 with a vision to transform the traditional notion of a literary agency into a new type of company to help people manage their creative ideas and IP in a more strategic way.

The Blair Partnership is made up of a range of talents – from brand directors and literary agents to lawyers and commercial experts. Our team is designed to manage the complexity and opportunity that creatives and IP owners face today.

Neil Blair

Neil is J.K. Rowling’s agent, Founding Partner of The Blair Partnership and Chairman of Pottermore.

Before founding the agency in 2011, Neil Blair was Warner Bros.’ VP, Head of Business Affairs, Europe, working on productions like Band of Brothers and Eyes Wide Shut. More recently Neil was a Producer on The Descendants and The Book Thief, and EP for the BBC adaptation of The Casual Vacancy, and represented J.K. Rowling Producer interest on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Neil is also EP for the upcoming BBC series adaptation of Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike Mysteries, and the Warner Bros. film adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Neil is involved in a number of charitable causes including Lumos, UK Friends of The Abraham Fund Initiatives and the Rugby Football Foundation.

Jenny Phillips

Jenny is Group Managing Director.

Before joining the company in February 2016, Jenny was Managing Director of PSONA, a leading communications agency. Her extensive career includes senior positions at The Communications Agency, Publicis, Rail Europe and Club Med.

Anouska Spiers

Anouska is Group General Counsel and a Partner.

She runs the legal and business affairs team for both The Blair Partnership and Pottermore. Prior to joining in 2011, Anouska worked with Neil at the Christopher Little Literary Agency for two years and was an associate at Olswang LLP. Anouska is also a Director of Pottermore, and of The Big Idea Competition, a nationwide initiative searching for the next big story idea for children.

Zoë King

Zoë is Senior Agent and a Partner.

She represents a wide range of writers and creatives and works with Neil on J.K. Rowling’s new commercial publishing activity. Before joining the company, Zoë worked at the Christopher Little and Darley Anderson agencies representing bestselling and debut writers, and developing new talent.

James McKnight

James is Franchise and Brand Marketing Director for J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.



Before joining The Blair Partnership, James worked at a number of entertainment and publishing companies including Mind Candy and HarperCollins where he worked on franchises including Lord of the Rings, Paddington Bear and Moshi Monsters.

Jessica Maslen

Jessica is Head of International Publishing.

With nearly 10 years experience in international sales, Jessica is responsible for selling translation rights around the world, managing international publications and publisher relationships. Before joining The Blair Partnership, she worked at Walker Books and Albin Michel.

Jo Warren

Jo is Director of Royalties.

Jo started out in accountancy and remained in this field for six years before moving in to the world of copyright and royalties in 2003.

Her career includes extensive experience across both the music and literary publishing sectors. Prior to The Blair Partnership, Jo worked at the Christopher Little Literary Agency.
