Alex Polizzi

After reading English at Oxford, Alex trained at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, worked for Marco Pierre White at the Criterion, and then worked at various Forte properties around the world. In 2005, Alex was instrumental to the opening of Endsleigh as well as Hotel Tresanton across the Tamar in Cornwall.

Although she is best known for The Hotel Inspector, Polizzi has fronted a number of shows for Channel 5 including programmes such as Alex Polizzi’s Secret Italy and Spectacular Spain with Alex Polizzi. She has also hosted shows for BBC Two including Alex Polizzi: The Fixer, where she focuses on turning around the fortunes of family-owned businesses, and Alex Polizzi: Chefs on Trial, where she offers business advice to various dining outlets.

Away from television, Polizzi and her mother Olga launched their first joint venture in 2021, with the opening of The Star in Alfriston, East Sussex.
