Bana Alabed

Bana, a Syrian girl born in 2009 in Aleppo, is known worldwide for her tweets during the siege of the city in 2016 and for her subsequent calls for peace. She was awarded the Atlantic council Freedom Award in 2018 and in the same year was named a Rising Star by the Asian Awards.

Her story, DEAR WORLD was published by Simon and Schuster in 2017, followed by her picture book memoir MY NAME IS BANA in September 2021.
