Martine is a senior presenter with BBC News. She’s worked for over 30 years as a reporter and anchor, on air for breaking news such as the death of HRH Prince Philip, the aftermath of 9/11 and the war in Ukraine. Martine earned praise for her calm demeanour during the Paris terror attacks with former CBS bureau chief David Henderson commending her for her “level-headed clarity” during hours of live coverage.

Martine joined the BBC in 1991, working at Radio Leicester and East Midlands Today before moving to the national TV newsroom in 2001. She is known for her engaging delivery, versatility and playful style.

Alongside her broadcasting work, she is a sought-after keynote speaker and conference host, and an experienced presentation skills trainer at the BBC Academy and for corporate clients.

A geography graduate of the University of Leeds, Martine is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society for whom she regularly moderates events. In 2022, she won Celebrity Mastermind with her specialist subject Nellie Bly.
