“The Commandant’s Shadow” Shortlisted for Best Documentary at 2025 Emmy Awards

London, 1 May 2025 — Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO are honoured to announce that The Commandant’s Shadow, a compelling documentary directed by Daniela Völker, has been shortlisted for Best Documentary at the 2025 Emmy Awards. The film offers a poignant exploration of the legacy of Auschwitz, told through the unique encounter between Jürgen Höss, the son of the camp’s former commandant, and Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, a Holocaust survivor.​

Produced by Snowstorm Productions, Creators Inc., and New Mandate Films, The Commandant’s Shadow was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Documentary Films. The executive producers include Neil Blair, Jonathan Blair, Wendy Robbins, Matti Leshem, Joel Greenberg, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, Sajan Raj Kurup, Jani Guest, and Jamie Jessop.​

The Documentary Night ceremony will be held on June 26, 2025.
