Craig Robertson

Author

Craig Robertson is the author of eleven novels, most set on the mean and gentrified streets of contemporary Glasgow.

He was shortlisted for the CWA John Creasey Dagger for his debut Random, has twice been longlisted for the Theakston’s Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year, been longlisted three times and once shortlisted for the McIlvanney Prize for Scottish Crime Novel of the Year, longlisted for the CWA Steel Dagger, and shortlisted for the CWA Twisted Dagger. He hasn’t won anything yet, but he’s sort of okay with that.

A former journalist, Craig interviewed three UK Prime Ministers, reported on major stories including 9/11, Dunblane, the Omagh bombing and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. He was pilloried on breakfast television, beat Oprah Winfrey to a major scoop, spent time on Death Row in the USA and dispensed polio drops in the backstreets of India.

Craig is a director of the Bloody Scotland crime writing festival and runs the Bute Noir festival. He’s a Sunday Times bestseller and an international bestseller. His latest novel is The Trials of Marjorie Crowe.

He currently has two TV and one film adaptation of his novels at differing stages of development. He is married to American crime and thriller writer Alexandra Sokoloff with whom he has recklessly embarked on a new series of California-set novels.
