Sarah Clarke

Sarah Clarke spent most of her twenties avoiding adulting. She spent winters snowboarding in France and New Zealand (which added up to a lot of winters) and travelled around Australia, Asia, Europe and the US.

When she finally returned to the UK, she ‘fell’ into marketing, but quickly found her calling as a copywriter. Sarah worked in agencyland for 15 years before deciding her youngest child starting secondary school provided a ‘now or never’ moment. In 2018, she signed up to a Faber Academy novel-writing course and threw everything at becoming an author.

Sarah’s debut psychological thriller A MOTHER LEVER LIES was published with HarperCollins HQ Digital in 2021 and spent over six weeks in the Kindle top 100. She has since published a further five thrillers as Sarah Clarke, including THE SKI TRIP which was an Adele Parks’ recommended read in Platinum Magazine.

In 2025, Sarah published her first social media thriller THE TRADWIFE’S SECRET as Liane Child. The book sold worldwide, is being translated into 10 languages, and the film and TV rights have been optioned. Sarah will publish her second Liane Child book SOMEONE JUST FOLLOWED YOU in 2026, as well as a seventh Sarah Clarke destination thriller.

Sarah lives in London with one husband, one dog, and two part-time children who she lures back from university as regularly as they’ll let her. She still loves the mountains – although she’s more of a skier these days – and spends as much time as possible in Morzine in France. She’s also sports-mad and dreams of one day writing a thriller set on a rugby pitch.
